What's your thoughts on Trump?

RE: What's your thoughts on Trump?
I think he's a dangerous, unprincipled, immature sociopath who hates everyone that isn't him. My fondest hope is that he grabs the wrong pussy and suffocates when she stuffs his own balls down his throat, preferably during his inauguration.

Donald Trump is unfit to be around decent people.

I wonder how many First Ladies we're gonna wind up having after 4 years (or however long he lasts).

Also, I just wonder what America's going to be like in 4 years. Seems like we're not censoring ourselves quite as much as we might have before (I believe in the first amendment, yes, but I also believe in human tact).

A large motivation I suspect was the notion of 'fuck it, what have we got to lose?'. I don't think anyone would really be disappointed besides those who didn't vote for him

Compared to another presidency that maintains the status quo, many would rather shake things the fuck up, irrespective of whether it succeeds or not.

Don't mistake that for carelessness though, the point here is that to many the current set up isn't working for them regardless of who they vote for, so in actuality what does it matter if Trump doesn't do all he promises. As long as he does some of it they're already winning.

Do you expect Trump to really "shake" anything up?  His cabinet isn't exactly filled with mavericks and outsiders.

I expect he is far more likely than Hillary Clinton ever would be to change things. Whether he does or not time will tell, his current agenda with lobbyists looks good IMO. I don't think anyone could really argue otherwise.

And again, if he doesn't, whoopidoo. What have I lost? Hell those who didn't vote for him would consider it the best possible outcome by some respects wouldn't they?

Well, I totally agree on the point about Hillary Clinton.  She didn't try to hide her "swampiness."  I'm just of the opinion that Trump is equally "swampy," he just masked it with his promises and rhetoric.

I don't really see how people think this to be honest.

What ties does Trump have to the political classes that get anywhere near the level of corruption that Hillary Clinton has? Genuinely asking because I'd like to know.

Trump ain't a saint and I'd never portray him as such, all people with that much money are doing dodgy dealings somewhere along the line. He doesn't represent the common man of non-privilege by any stretch. But for me, if you put it in perspective, to say Trump is equally swampy? Really?

One of the biggest things going for him, is that he really doesn't give a fuck about pandering to special interests. Why would he? He can afford to fund his own campaign for one example, why would he be in the backpocket of anyone but himself.

Just read his biography, look at his appointments so far, look at all the pictures being readily available of him posing with political royalty. Then come again on what ties he has.

It's kind of obvious. Takes a first class idiot to think of him as a maverick.

Ah yes, the old 'go do your own research' post.

Evidently, if we all did the same research and came to the same conclusions on the back of it, we wouldn't be here. It's a discussion, so discuss. Present your case if you please. Saying "it's obvious" doesn't cut it. It's like a theist saying god is self-evident.

Swampy in the sense that his cabinet and administration will still be run by career politicians and corporate influences.  He's made it dreadfully clear that his knowledge of policy and intent to learn isn't exactly stellar - so he's getting 'the best' people to do that for him.

He himself isn't stuck in the same mold of political cronyism and corruption as Clinton simply due to the fact that he hasn't yet had a chance to be.  And you're right, Trump might not be beholden to special interest groups, but the people he's choosing to run the country for him sure as hell are.  I'm not talking about Trump as an individual, I'm talking about his cabinet and administration as a whole.

Okay well let's look at if he'd of played it differently.

What would honestly happen? His cabinet and administration will always include career politicians. If he just started appointing random business people or think-tank aficionados he'd be crucified for it.

What he's made clear is that he's willing to take advice and listen to the people who are more than likely better placed than himself, and then make a decision based on their input. What would you rather? That he just hamfists every decision?

Why is it when Trump comes out with this, it's seen as Trump 'not having any intent to learn', when if it was anyone else it would be seen as a great thing?

Isn't listening to others a positive? Isn't getting input on major decisions from bright minds something that should be commended? In one breath people are worried he will become an Adolf Hitler dictator, in another you criticise him for doing the exact opposite and saying he will get aid in making decisions rather than making them alone?

Surely you can see the bias here?

Absolutely and I don't doubt it, but from the Top you have a guy who isn't beholden to special interests. I mean, he isn't backing down from his anti-lobbyist promise is he? If anything he's gone full steam ahead and outlined EXACTLY what he's going to do. Yet even that is still not enough.

I see a lot of criticism for Trump supporters that 'nothing you say will sway them'. Seems to me the opposite is as true with those on the anti-Trump train. Anything remotely positive is blocked out like it isn't happening.
