RE: Dear Atheist Forums
I don't see how asking discussion - because what's happening is not debate, it's loose discussion - to be cleaned up a bit is in any way "controlling".

Nor do I see how asking for everyone to have a little empathy is, either.

Maybe I'm missing something.

You miss how " discussions " or " debates " develop, particularly over the net, where no visual contact exists and nuances are missed.
I am all for civilised debate, but from experience I know how other factors intervene ( like emotions, prejudices, stubborness....an expanding list ) generating " heat ".
If you come on forums like this, you should expect to feel the " heat " from time to time. My opinion.
HuhA man is born to a virgin mother, lives, dies, comes alive again and then disappears into the clouds to become his Dad. How likely is that?

Would you care to expand, Darwinian? I don't know who you may be having a pop at!

I think he's just talking about the situation in general. Maybe I'm wrong though.

Why assume that I'm having a pop at anyone? All I'm saying is that no matter how impassioned a plea might be and how reasonable and sensible it is, there will always be some who strongly object to it.

That's human nature and it shouldn't surprise us.

I assumed you may be taking sides and was wondering which side.
Now I think you are sitting on the fence. ( no offence intended, before I'm misunderstood....just telling it like it seems )

I'm not taking sides, nor am I sitting on the fence. However, if I had to be on one side of this fence or another then I would be on the same side as thesummerqueen because the grass is greener over there.
