Skyrim Countdown

After killing a dragon, and loading it up with dwarven shit I couldn't carry (Dragon scales/bones > useless shit)... I gave an example of how I killed it to my girlfriend's stepfather. I overcharged up a firebolt, and let it fly towards that soggy sag of bones, expecting the usual explosion of flame.

I didn't expect to blast it several hundred feet horizontally off the mountain.

I love the little bastard!

I loved him at first (as I did in oblivion)... but he fucked up both times I attempted to clear a dungeon, and always got in my way (everywhere) with no 'get outa my way' option in sight.

Mostly I was super irritated at him giving my location away before I was ready.

Sounds like how I dealt with one cave bear, shortly before the second came up to maul me (and did, but I survived), and I barely killed it as the dragon bathed me in frost, and I spent 10 minutes killing that bitch, had to pursue it across the mountain to its other side since it got interested in bandits, killed that mother, took out a few of the bandits...

And with the last one running towards me with a greatsword (her at 1/6-1/8th health, me at 1/4th), I got cocky and pulled out a greatsword of my own.

She hits me with a finishing blow and I ragequit from to the absurdity of taking on 2 consecutive cave bears, a dragon, several of her bandit cronies, and blasting her with a few fireballs from a distance... only to be one-shot with a fourth of my life remaining by a common bandit with a 2-handed sword who my own two handed sword was mockingly about to finish off.

Not a good experience -_- Infact... I at first thought it was my finishing move and not hers. BuzzzzzzzzKiiiillllllll.

Absolutely gutted. Guess that's what can happen when you play mage and don't put points into your health?

A mage wearing enchanted elven armor with equal points placed into magic and health and several light armor perks...

That character is more of a stealth archer than a mage... magic is the fallback when people finally do find me Tongue I can usually stall them indefinitely with 'throw voice' while sneakily picking them off one at a time Tongue

It was more depressing still that I had many health potions... just didn't think I needed one to take her (wouldn't have sans deathblow). After that experience... I've used more potions as insurance against deathblows than I have emergency healing Smile

I am fully decked out in daedra armor now, which as it turns out is actually better than dragons scale armor even though you don't need as high of a skill to forge it. I am becoming a tank.

The downside to daedric armor is that it isn't light armor. Big Grin

I've never been a big fan of heavy armor - it's too heavy, when you consider the encumbrance limitations in Skyrim (until you get the Conditioning perk). Not as much of an issue in Morrowind or Oblivion where it was pretty easy to push your strength to 100.

Me, I'm using Dragonscale most of the time, sometimes swapping out for pieces of the Shrouded and Thieves' set when needed.

Getting my Smithing skill up to 100 and Enchantment up to 70 has really been a help in building some really killer armor and weaponry. I ended up leveling faster than I really wanted to, but in the end it was worth it.

The amount of kids which talk shit in this game too! It's bad enough they made it so we can't slice their little heads off, but for fuck sake why make them constantly mock us just to rub our faces in it when we finally have enough of their pathetic commentaries!

Kid in Solitude: "I bet my daddy could beat you up"

Me: "How much you little shit!"

Kid in Solitude: "I bet my daddy could beat you up"

Me: "STFU YOU LITTLE PRICK"

Kid in Solitude: "I bet my daddy could beat you up"

Me: "Okay, you're gonna die" *proceeds to hit the kid, gaining a bounty and having the city chase after me because I told them I wasn't going to jail, getting myself into further shit and murdering everyone in sight, realising I fucked up my save, I reload*

Kid in Solitude: "I bet my daddy could beat you up"

Me: "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU"

I was so upset when I realized they did it again and made it so I can't kill children. It pisses me off. Can't wait for a mod to fix that.

Marriage in Skyrim is so shitty it shouldn't even be in there, it actually makes the game WORSE.
