why i believe in Islam?

RE: why i believe in Islam?
Quote:About Strong drink;

16:67
And of the fruits of the date-palm, and grapes, whence ye derive strong drink and (also) good nourishment. Lo! therein is indeed a portent for people who have sense.

2:219
Strong drink and games of chance. Say: In both is great sin.

i dont see the contradiction here in the first verse(16:67) we are shown how a bad thing like alcohol and also good things like grapes come from the same thing

in the second verse(2:219)we are told that strong drink is a great sin

Quote:How long is a day to Alllah?

22:47
A Day with Allah is as a thousand years of what ye reckon. 32:5 He directeth the ordinance from the heaven unto the earth; then it ascendeth unto Him in a Day, whereof the measure is a thousand years of that ye reckon.

70:4
Unto Him in a Day whereof the span is fifty thousand years.

--------

in the first verse(22:47) it says "......is as a thousand years" wich means is like a thousand years

and in the second verse(70:4) means "Day the measure whereof is (as) fifty thousand years..."
thats two different occasions

and in the second its talking about the sinners in the day of judgment will be so hard they will feel as its fifty thousand year its not actually fifty thousand years

use this translation its easier:http://www.harunyahya.com/Quran_translation/Quran_translation_index.php

Quote:How long did Allah take to create the earth?

7:54 Lo! your Lord is Allah Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days.

41:9-12
Say (O Muhammad, unto the idolaters): Disbelieve ye verily in Him Who created the earth in two Days ... He placed therein firm hills rising above it, and blessed it and measured therein its sustenance in four Days ... Then He ordained them seven heavens in two Days....

the second verse is also six days its a matter of grammer i dont even know does it mean in english the same but in arabic it means that the earth was created in 2 days and he placed therein firms hills........in 4 days including the first 2 days so they are just 4 days (not 6) then the other 2 days in the creation of the skies(google any commentary on these verses and if it still not clear i will give u an example)
Quote:I think the qur'an has been changed. Parts have been written in to make it look as if you had the knowledge the whole time while your only opting for intellectual dishonesty.
u think???thats not true. get me ur evidence if u r interested enough

Quote:Didn't have the tools to prove it wrong? Huh? So people believed this (in other words they had been tought this) and yet no one bothered to mention it? Makes no sense...AT ALL!
plz dont cut from my sentence i continued saying that they had many other reasons to believe

Quote:I have every reason to believe that it was never in the qur'an before it was discovered by science. That this is intellectual dishonesty in it's finest form.
i respect what u believe and am not here to convince ppl am just sharing my beliefs and love to hear other ppl beliefs.

You have really taken a deep drink from the Kool-Aid, my friend.

Religion can always con itself into believing that whatever it says is true. Thanks for proving the point...as if it needed to be proven again.

How about you provide evidence that the qur'an actually mentioned all the future scientific discoveries within those 1400 years?
Are there any old scholars within those 1400 years that we know of that spoke of this scientific knowledge? Any historical records outside of the qur'an for which agrees with the qur'an? Please tell me why no one speaks of any thing about the big bang or evolution or cars, planes ect ect within those 1400 years. The fact that there is no evidence to suggest that the qur'an ever had such knowldge based on the fact that there is no historical recordings from numerous scholars to confirm this.
It's you who needs to provide the evidence.

I want to hear about this "so called" scientific knowledge for which your qur'an supposedly had for which no one ever mentioned within those 1400 years. You said people believed it, this means it must have been taught and yet it was never mentioned. It's not mentioned anywhere. I think it's all intellectual dishonesty.

I think people never mentioned about it before because they didn't know. The qur'an mentioned nothing about it bucause like the people at the time, they didn't know.
I don't think the qur'an mentioned anything about it until it was eventually discovered by science. You put it in the qur'an then act as if it was there the whole time but like right now, you can't get your bloody story straight. It's no differant from predicting an event in the future that has already happend in the past but pretend to be guided by a divine being. It's intellectual dishonesty and I hate it!

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

Why are you assuming I haven't already?

Let's assume, for a second that the Qur'an did accurately predict all the things on that silly site. Why did the discovery and invention of such thing only come about through secular means and not through study of the Qur'an?

It's quite literally holding on to the coattails of modern science and trying to make sense of things that obviously don't conform to reality in the holy book you hold dear.

Be realistic.

Already have. So where does it mention the names of those who read and knew about future scientific endevours, at what year, at what location and written on what historical text?
Please list them.

That will be an interesting thread. I've always wondered what islam thinks if I decide to have 4 husbands who are there to have sex with me whenever I want. I might also, maybe, have a bunch of male 'mistresses'. No one will be harmed and in fact lots of happiness will happen, so I wonder what allah thinks of this, since I am truly enjoying and cherishing this body he gave me.

Tavarish, that was a great Richard Dawkins video (like there are any other kind - he pwns every topic he touches!), but it got cut off midsentence at the end. Sad Oh yeah, back to meeting allah's representative... Hi Mo3. Smile

most of the scentist that discovered these facts where none muslims and never read the Quran but there is few muslim scholars that studied the Quran first then prove that what was said in the Quran from 1400 is the true facts and thats how u can believe that this was not said by humans but it was coming from the creator of everything
example:can u believe that ur mobile was made alone with all the options and complications in it?
if someone come to u and claims that he is the producer of that mobile and told u how it was made exactly and later u discovered that this mobile was made exactly like he told you and everything in ur mobile works exactly as he said.will u believe that he is the producer??????
thats just how i think am not convincing u of anything am just sharing my beliefs

Please show me where in the Quran it accurately describes scientific processes in detail. No vague assertions, I mean actual A=A assertions.

If someone told me that he made my phone and said "it makes calls and rings", it wouldn't be evidence for me to believe him. The devil is in the details.
