I think Kyu is right. Applying his point to to the modal ontological argument, if you look at premise 6, it seems perfectly innocent. However, the argument only gives two choices - logically, God has ... |

Oh, sorry. I think I see.
Obviously, you're right. There is no reason a God should be necessary, eternal, etc.. Plenty of gods in the polytheistic religions aren't. And of course I don't know that go... |

In the same way I can assign a property to anything definitionally. For example, I may say 'Unicorns have a horn'. I'm not saying that unicorns exist and have a horn, but that if unicorns existed, the... |

Not that much of a change then :s
How about modal ontological arguments? I don't think they're circular or beg the question (although they come close). Here's one:

Hmm.
This is a rather weak argument to design. I don't agree with this one, although I do like other versions.
I've noticed that people on here are constantly calling for empirical evidence for God'... |

What do you think about deists? Are they irrational, rational, or somewhere between the two?

OK, fair enough. I wasn't saying the argument isn't valid without inherited sin, I just meant to clarify because a lot of people conflate the two.
In hindsight, I sound a bit patronising there - sorry... |
