I mean no disrespect, but why is it that you condemn the men for shooting to kill when they are wearing badges, and condemn the guns when someone who shoots to kill is not wearing a badge? Guns are only threatening in the hands of a threat.

ETA: I'm no fan of the police, nor of irresponsible gun owners (strangely synonymous these days)

Oh, don't misunderstand. When some nutty gun owner kills someone I am perfectly willing to blame him.

The fact that such a person is able to get his hands on a gun is a whole other story.

We expect cops to be armed...even though many of them cannot seem to handle the responsibility.

"Dane Scott is dead as the result of the choices that Dane Scott made," Friesen said. "(Harrison) could not have done anything other than what he did do and not violate his oath."

A police affidavit says Harrison was trying to arrest Scott after a car chase and took a handgun from the teen. As Scott ran away, Harrison fired four times, with the fourth shot striking Scott in the back.

The affidavit says Scott was unarmed and posed no threat of death or great bodily harm. Harrison faces a minimum of four years and a maximum of life in prison if convicted of manslaughter.

So running from a cop is a capital crime now?

This is bullshit. A gun might go off once "accidentally." But by the time you are firing the 5th round you should have some fucking idea what your trigger finger is doing!
