The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

The pictures are of a character named James Robson.  He was portrayed by R. E. Rodgers.

The TV show was called Oz and it was on HBO.

Robson was a lunk in the prison, a member of the Aryans.  He was convicted of killing a black man.  He managed to PO most everyone in the prison outside of the Aryans, and on occasion, managed to PO them too.  During that period, due to his unpopularity, he realized he would be quickly murdered unless he found someone or group to protect him.  He wound up as another inmate's (as I recall, Wolfgang) bottom bitch.  A rather dramatic turn of events for a rather odious member of the Aryans.

Despite the nasty character he portrayed, R. E. Rodgers is certainly a handsome man.

Almost forgot, another character on the show, Tobias Beecher, bit the end off his penis . . .

Panic

In the show, silly.

The producers and writers of the show took a certain perverse pleasure in making episodes with scenes their actors would find embarrassing. Any actor who was a problem would have their character murdered (usually horribly) and they'd be off the show.

As you might expect, a mostly male cast prison drama with over the top plotting on HBO would be a major favorite TV show of mine.

Indeed.

An infamous scene involved Vern Shillinger (head of the Aryans) raping Peter Schibetta (head of the 'Italians') and asking Pete if he would be the judge of who had the larger penis, himself, or another inmate named Adebesi, who had previously raped Schibetta.

The show had some wildly contrived plot elements, a disturbing number of rapes (male on male), an even greater number of disturbing murders, a clueless prison administration and excessive (well, not for me) male nudity.

What's not to like ?
