When did peace officers turn into radical, mentally-deranged extremists, with no discretion? When did they become judge, jury, and executioner to lost, defenseless cats?

Oh.  It's the Supreme Court's fault.  This is another reason we need to make sure that the republicunts appoint no more nazis to the court.

A Washington man has settled a lawsuit with the city of Tukwila after police officers assaulted him following a complaint that he was dancing in an industrial parking lot, reports the Seattle Times.

The city will pay Linson Tara $100,000 to settle a civil-rights lawsuit filed after the officers used Tasers, their fists and then a police dog on him while he was being restrained.

  I guess dancing in a parking lot is a big problem for them?

There's nine people currently on Washington's death row.  The death penalty has been suspended for now.  Remember what H.L. Mencken said about people enduring oppression and exploitation.

A federal judge in Brooklyn, in an extraordinary opinion issued on Wednesday that calls for courts to pay closer attention to how felony convictions affect people’s lives, sentenced a woman in a drug case to probation rather than prison, saying the collateral consequences she would face as a felon were punishment enough.

The judge, Frederic Block of Federal District Court, said such consequences served “no useful function other than to further punish criminal defendants after they have completed their court-imposed sentences.”

I'm sure the Prison-Industrial complex is already working to get this guy out.  Can't have some judge fucking up their profit stream.
