Guns: A Daily Show Test
April 18, 2016 at 1:07 am
Quote:The Daily Show tests if a "good guy with a gun" can stop a mass shooting
It has been said millions of times after a mass shooting: The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.
On Thursday, The Daily Show's Jordan Klepper put the theory to the test. He trained on the basics of using a firearm and got a concealed carry permit that's valid in 30 states. Then he participated in mass shooting simulations to see how, exactly, he would hold up in such a scenario.
He failed. Miserably. In his final test, which simulated a school shooting, he shot an unarmed civilian, and he was shot multiple times by the active shooters and even law enforcement, who mistook him for the bad guy. He never took down the active shooters.

And that would be a bad thing, right?

A more detailed video. What really pisses me off about gun worshipers, just like the economic right, even when you point to the experts, like Pete, who say most people cant handle guns, they think that is a call to make them illegal in all cases. Then at the same time the gun worshipers say they want to keep them out of the wrong hands, and the left agrees, you still cant point to the experts. It's like telling a Jesus freak that science says there is no such thing as a magic baby born of a virgin.

And quietly, in the background this happens.
Quote:As Public Radio International (PRI) reported recently, the House of Representatives Appropriations Committee voted to reject an amendment last month that would have allowed the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to study the relationship between gun ownership and gun violence.
The reasoning? "A gun is not a disease," and therefore falls outside of the CDC's research domain.
“The CDC is there to look at diseases that need to be dealt with to protect public health,” House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said at a press conference last week.

"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Nope sorry gun worshipers there is no debate. You've thrown your baby fits like Isis does when you criticize the Koran when nobody is calling for a a ban on all guns. Only delusional idiot thinks the amount of gun death is acceptable.
The NRA is not the gun safety organization it started out as, it is simply another industry lobby there to protect the profits and flooded market of guns.

Elsewhere I have been running mass shooting versus DGUs*. So far the mass shootings are winning. The DGU site rarely records one event per day. Makes you wonder what the other 299,999,999 guns are for.
