I am not talking about starting at the 25 after a touchback.
But in the Skins vs Jets preseason the Jets got a safety, not for tackling our guy in our own end zone, or having the ball go out the back, but is it a new rule to call a safety on a mere penalty when the ball isn't out of the endzone yet and the play is not over? I saw it, yes, but don't understand it. It used to be simply put the ball on the 1 inch line. Is it merely rarely used or simply another new rule this year?
