What I've been told is that Islam is a Religion of Peace and that it's just a tiny minority who commit violent acts. I reached the opposite conclusion by being aware of reality.

While it's true that the real radicals are those are the Qulliam Foundation, I still think it's a (sizeable) minority, albeit a fast growing one, that's violent. Did you know Tunisia grows lots of grapes for wine for example? If there were that many radicals there would be no Tunisian wine industry. Well look, listing lots of examples isn't going to help the situation.

Fact is, most humans are more tolerant than the deities they claim to follow. They need go back to the salad bar from where they came and take a good long look at all of the items on offer. Pick and chose believers are the worst because they know their religious texts say nasty things but try to rationalize them. If they don't like something they may go back to the salad bar, thus making them a massive hypocrite, take out some fresh salad, just so they don't have to admit defeat. In some ways, peaceful believers are as bad as violent ones because you tell them their religion is wrong and you get accused of pulling the rug from under their feet. And that is their way of saying "Don't criticize my religion".
