I think that no matter what we may think of her opinions, we can give her a certain amount of respect for standing firm on what she believes is the right thing to do - no matter how wrong we may think she is.

A conviction to cherry pick scriptures to inflict on gays and to willfully ignore others she finds inconvenient ?
That ain't religion, unless she counts as her own denomination. And it's clear, as far as divorce and remarriage go, she knows more than God, she has her own set of rules on that for herself.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
