That would be an excellent point, Chad, except that the issue is human rights.
You could say the same thing about people who smuggled slaves to freedom on the Underground Railroad.
If people are defying the law because some citizens don't enjoy equal rights to others,
and the growing trend of increasing acknowledgement of LGBT rights seems to indicate this is valid,
then it is a little bit silly to try to simply label it a double-standard.
