I know that the fact that he was his stepfather has already been stated, but that is not what interests me about your (apparently) rhetorical question.
If one goes back far enough in anyone's lineage, one is probably certain to find a murderer, rapist, etc., somewhere along the line. Probably several. You are not identical to any of your ancestors, nor are you merely the product of your genes. Environment plays a role in what you are. And your exact environment is not exactly the same as anyone else's. So each one is unique. (Just like everyone else.)
