I feel compelled to point out even after all this time that you never made a single rational statement which disproved a word I said, in fact all you have done is refer to Christian revisionist historians and pretend they were right when their statements were non-factual.
considering that Christian priests and ministers like to name agnosticism side by side with atheism when they swear non-religious people are everything under the sun that's evil, I find myself wondering why anyone from one of the groups they condemn and openly hate would rush to defend their hate driven accusations.
There's a difference between defending asshole Christians and insisting that, when we counterattack them, we do so from a 100% factual and fair basis. It does us no good to stoop to their levels-- if you are angry that they misrepresent atheists, you should see why we are nitpicking what you say in return.
There are many, many reasons we should engage with and destroy the ideologies that religion espouses. There are just as many reasons to warn one another that the method by which we do so must be above reproach, lest we drift toward becoming that which we claim to loathe.
"Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you." - Friedrich Nietzsche
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.
