I'm sure, Manstein was a "good christian" too. But what exactly does that say about the regime? The short answer is, nothing.

Mainstream in Germany is protestanism. Hitler stayed within the Catholic Church because he didn't want to cause any fuzz by confronting them during the war. Which is well documented in the book by Harry Picker, I mentioned much earlier.
