When I was an idealistic, bright eyed teenager, I really believed that religion would die out and human society would become non-religious, non-spiritual like the human society was on on Star Trek: The Next Generation. However then I matured into a man, realized the sheer ill-rationality and gullibility of a lot of my fellow human beings. Nowadays I very much doubt that one day all religion will die, alas Sad
