Why would we bother to develop capabilities with reference to something for which we have no evidence of its existence. To show you how ridiculous your statement is, let me replace spiritual with something we know is fictional (being from a series of fiction novels):
"That's what happens to the thinking of people who haven't taken the time develop any Discworld discernment."
We have exactly the same evidential for Discworld as we do for spirits, assertions made without supporting data. The only difference being that Terry Pratchett never went around insisting that Discworld was actually real outside his and his readers imaginations, whereas, despite masses of evidence contradictory, idiots like you still continue to insist that there is a reality outside our reality and demand that the rest of us take your unevidenced assertions to be absolutely true.
