Ok this one is probably going to rile people up but it just occurred to me in light of Prince dying
I hate when a celebrity dies, and suddenly all these pseudo-fans, mostly who are too young to remember the celebrities' glory days, come out the woodwork like "OHMARGERD I LURVED [insert celebrity here]"
Bitch no you didn't, you're suddenly just a fan now they're dead so you can be in the loop. Millennials just want to be in the loop, nothing can happen on social media where they're not involved or they feel some type of way.
Pay your respects and be considerate about the death, but all this extraness where you're pretending like you always rode so hard for this celebrity is just too much. You didn't give a shit about a Prince, a David Bowie or a Michael Jackson before they died, let's be real. It's a lot to be giving people when you're 12 and your parents were probably little children themselves when these celebs were at their zenith.

"Ironically like the nativist far-Right, which despises multiculturalism, but benefits from its ideas of difference to scapegoat the other and to promote its own white identity politics; these postmodernists, leftists, feminists and liberals also use multiculturalism, to side with the oppressor, by demanding respect and tolerance for oppression characterised as 'difference', no matter how intolerable." - Maryam Namazie
