You got less of a problem if you legalize softer drugs such as pot. You would get less of a problem if you legalized all drugs for that matter. The drug problem is on the same lines as the prohibition problem in the USA of old. As long as there's tons of money to be made by running them illegaly, there will be a lot of crime. Not everyone would suddenly inject themselves with heroin if it was legal. But the ones doing it could do it legally, in a controlled and clean environment, using clean stuff, with prizes not being over the top. Which by the way would also reduce illegla prostitution and procurement crimes.
We have all sorts of legal drugs. It's only that the legal drugs are supported by major industries and their lobbies.
