When I was 15, my voice became very deep, and I was often ridiculed for it: I would try to sound normal, but this just made me sound non-confident and awkward (it didn't help that I had a baby face). Eventually, I realized that you ultimately have to make the most with what you've got. After listening to men like Avery Brooks, Patrick Stewart, Orson Welles, and William Marshall, it dawned on me that I could also speak confidently and well.
