The police got the wrong guy. Do you perhaps see why making broad generalizations is counterproductive? How much of a head-start might the actual perpetrator gotten because the police were sidetracked by this fetishization of xenophobia?

Turns out the real suspect is now a Muslim Tunisian asylum seeker not a Muslim Pakistani refugee.

He was refused asylum, yes. Germany tried to send him back, but Tunisia said he wasn't Tunisian.

Given that, I reckon my point stands; he's only a suspect, and the thought that he's Muslim remains an assumption.

Then.

My point was not about the perpetrator himself. My point was about the assumptions made before the suspect's identity was known. Surely you're sharp enough to get the point.

I was disagreeing with the statement that it's only an assumption that the suspect is Muslim. 
Based on what I'd heard about the suspect and his background I'd say it's more than an assumption.

I was also pointing out that I don't know where you heard that he isn't Tunisian.
Every news source I've seen says he's Tunisian.

At the time that post was made, it was only an assumption. Do you need everything explained to you?

Which it wasn't because there was evidence the suspect was Muslim.

Pity you couldn't take the time to link that news so the readership could assay the source. I'm sure it was reputable, but no doubt others might wish to read for themselves.

Now what I'm going to explain to you is that my point is that your assumptions reveal a lot about yourself, whether or not you realize that. You can cry all you wish about "PC!" but your assumptions mark you. 

Your assumption was correct? That still doesn't give it the patina of reason.

Of course, you have to think to understand that much. Good luck on that score, and forgive my pessimism. I simply don't think you're up to it.

Talking about the assumptions I make until......

Well, the thing is, someone else -- not you -- was making an assumption, and you jumped in to proclaim you weren't like that ... as if anyone cared. And you never answered my question either, though you didn't mind being obstreperous.

And I know you had a conversation with alpha male before me but you were clearly replying to my post when I said the suspect was Muslim and saying to me that the thought the suspect is a Muslim is an assumption, which it wasn't.  And alpha male had nothing to do with the convo between me and you.

Also I didn't proclaim to not be like anything, I simply said as a matter of fact I never made an assumption and that there is evidence pointing to the suspect being Muslim at the time I made the claim the suspect is Muslim.
