His own party can't understand what the point is since he did win the election (so why allege voter fraud) and it doesn't matter that he didn't win the popular vote. The only person this would make a difference to is someone with NPD who refuses to accept he is not the most beloved president ever.
I've heard some talking heads say that this is not a big issue and neither was his obsession that Obama's crowds were bigger than his, leading to the worst and strangest opening press conference ever. But I think that is the point. That Trump gets so bent out of shape about these irrelevant issues that only affect his ego and he is therefore willing to waste tax payer dollars on it. This is a HUGE red flag.
