I'm not questioning why God is stupid. I know he isn't because his character was written by man.
I'm just at a loss to explain the thinking by the authors/translators behind something very basic.
Why would an all powerful God who just created the whole universe need to pinch a rib from Adam to make Eve?
I know it's just a story, but what the hell is the moral from it? ---That God is all powerful except for making spare ribs?
I'd like a theist to enlighten me please.
A simple Atheist question if I may...
Where in the bible does it say God NEEDED to pinch a rib from Adam??? Oh, that right it doesn't. It simply says he did. Ok, so why then ask that question.. oh that's right intellectually dishonest.
Well then maybe we can get an answer from Gen 2 as to why God would do this even if he did not need to..
23: then adam said:
“Finally! One like me,
with bones from my bones
and a body from my body.
She was taken out of a man,
so I will call her ‘woman.’”
Seems to me there was an immediate attachment, because Adam recognized the attachment God built in her from him.
