Don't Come Midnight, By Brian37 (AKA Brian James Rational Poet on FB and @Brianrrs37)
You will
No matter what
Despite what
Tomorrow brings
Her first birthday
She wont attend
Not wanting to accept
Her life did end
The one person
Who never gave up
Supported me
No matter what
Born she was
In the depression wake
In 1933
When times were tough
But she rose up
Nothing stopped her
Eventually she spent
Her career as a teacher
Then in
1969
She and my dad
Took me on
He passed away
in 81
But she still raised me
All alone
Never abandon me
Even with differences
If it weren't for her
I'd be on the streets
So tomorrow
Her birthday
Is bittersweet
Without her to say
Say that we are
Bonded forever
I cant wish you
The following again
Happy Birthday
August 5th
Don't come midnight
I have no way to resist.
You will
No matter what
Despite what
Tomorrow brings
Her first birthday
She wont attend
Not wanting to accept
Her life did end
The one person
Who never gave up
Supported me
