Quote:The law just now passed. I'm not sure how doctors are supposedly already using it in court to refuse gay patients, and winning. Not this law but similar state laws and incidences were health care providers have turned away gay and trans people. This law will just broaden this and make it all the easier .
Quote:Does this mean now that it's going to fly in courts if a dentist were to refuse to clean a gay patient's teeth? Or if a brain surgeon refuses to remove a brain tumor from a lesbian? Or if an emergency room doctor refuses to save the life of the transgender person who just got rushed in with gun shot wounds? Simply because of these people's sexuality? On the first link, nothing actually happened... It was more about them rambling on about what they think *could* happen, and the second was a denial to remove someone's boobs. They weren't discriminating against the person, they were refusing to do a procedure they did not agree with.

"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
