I think there may be an argument of semantics and definitions here.
I see nothing wrong with using our knowledge of genetics to screen our own offspring or (assuming we know what we're doing) use it to enhance them. Perhaps the OP is talking about genetic engineering and using the word, "eugenics" in error?
