I see little value in joining a religion with the intent to reform it. Seems like a waste of time. Atheists also have no business "reforming" a religion to which we don't belong.
It seems that you are attracted to Christianity, too. If you like some Christian values, why not just adopt some of those values personally and forego becoming a Christian. It's not a pill you have to swallow whole, really. Despite what Christians may say.
