He started with a complete reversal of situation by giving the burden of proof to us despite the fact that any encyclopedia or teacher would have given him the answer. He then rejected fossils and fossilisation. Yet a lot of folks got angry and annoyed, which is what he wanted to see.
All we have to do is not to take interest in his dismissal of everything around but to ask him what his personal explanation is. And that's the great thing about creationists, be them young earth like some fraction of the christians or old earth creationist like the indus. The fun really start when they give their explanations not when they try to sound smarter than science itself. That's where the weak unicorn stories come up.
I could have simply started with pointing him to an official international geological timescale map and asking him "ok, where on this map is it supposed to have happened?"

Now I'm new here so it would be presumptuous for me to assume X hasn't been tried/done before when I see that some of you have 5000+ posts. But is there a reality survival kit somewhere where fundamental documents like this one above are stored as reference? Evidence and best practices not to be bamboozled away from?
