I know. What is truly unique about Islam is that while most fundamentalist Christians are poorly educated, the overwhelming majority of Muslims are well educated. All of the 9/11 hijackers were very well educated, as are most of the fanatics.
Before douchebag here picks this post to respond to, it does not mean that the claims made by Islam are any more believable, it simply means that Islam is so deeply ingrained both socially and culturally that it is near impossible to dismantle the lifelong conditioning and systematic brainwashing.
The truth concerning your particular flavor and it's thousands of fellow religions is that religion only appeals to a certain type of person. Those that need it. If you need to feel as if someone bigger, older, and wiser is watching out for you, if you need to feel that there is some cosmic purpose to our existence, or a thousand other reasons then these beliefs will appeal to you, and you will rationalize them. But if you are mature, if you have outgrown tales of magic and superpowered wizards then they have no appeal at all. The theistic outlook is a juvenile notion, one that our species will inevitably outgrow. It's actually quite sad that someone like you, who obviously does not understand the arguments for your beliefs well enough to formulate your own arguments for them believes so adamantly. You believe for the sake of believing, because you need to believe. Nothing more.

"In our youth, we lacked the maturity, the decency to create gods better than ourselves so that we might have something to aspire to. Instead we are left with a host of deities who were violent, narcissistic, vengeful bullies who reflected our own values. Our gods could have been anything we could imagine, and all we were capable of manifesting were gods who shared the worst of our natures."-Me
"Atheism leaves a man to sense, to philosophy, to natural piety, to laws, to reputation; all of which may be guides to an outward moral virtue, even if religion vanished; but religious superstition dismounts all these and erects an absolute monarchy in the minds of men." – Francis Bacon
