There's a little problem with that article, mister: the Muslim Brotherhood does not "hold the reigns in Egypt"! The military do.

So if they can't even get that basic fact right in that article how should we, or Joe Public, take the rest seriously?

The military, right.
They seem to be *holding* reigns, right now. However, the moslem brotherhood is far now the politically most promising faction. They are also responsible for the majority of the demonstrations against the old regime.
These are the basic facts, my friend.
I knew these before I consulted the article.

The military have been ruling Egypt for centuries, sir! First the Turkish army (remember?), then the British army, and since the fifties of the last century the Egyptians' own army (Nasser, Sadat, and Mubarak were all generals!). So always the army!
Sleep well if you think they are going to give that up. They have the guns!

You think I don't know that? Well, it's called the *spring*, friend.
Meaning, the military rule is over. Soon, it will be the case of another islamic government that secretly backs US interests.

I wish we were ruled by our army, but instead, we're ruled by some *islamic* government, secretly backed by the US.
