Truth,
Nice rhetoric there, "...many atheists think they can 'disprove' god." and "Atheists are trying their hardest to prove a universal-negative." Neither of these statements has any basis in reality and they are just tools you are using to set up a straw man argument. The burden of proof is not on us and we all know that, ergo, we burn NO calories trying to "disprove god." On these forums we DO burn a lot of calories refuting arguments like yours:
If god came from nothing why not save a step and just say the universe came from nothing.
I doubt you know any atheists and you use the phrase "many atheists" to make it look like you HAVE talked to a good sample from our population but it is merely a rhetorical trick. I know of nobody who claims that "energy" created the universe because energy is part of the universe so that would be a circular argument.
There I held myself back from just posting fart noises and random O'RLY owls. I'm sure Truth will have a scathingly brilliant retort at which time I WILL respond with the respect this thread deserves.

Quote:Nothing comes from nothing. Well, if ever there was a time that nothing existed, nothing could exist. Consequently, something had to bring existence out of nothing. Singularity equals God. The conclusion to the existence of God; God is the Cosmological singularity. Cosmic singularity was the intelligence behind everything that came into existence. Therefore, God exists.
If god came from nothing why not save a step and just say the universe came from nothing.
Quote:I have encountered many atheists who claim Energy created the universe. That is untrue. Energy alone did not create the universe. Energy was a start, but to credit all life-form and all creation and alignment of all the planets to the first law of Thermodynamics is utterly insane.
