It's certainly not a choice, but I'm not certain it's a philia for the reason above, so some other name would probably work best. Like "homosexual". Either way, that's not really the topic, so back on tangent...
I wouldn't worry about it, philia can be used for anything eg audiophile, videophile but I suppose lover may be a better term as it's not so cold and scientific, how about same gender lover? I have even taken the sex out to make it more warm and fuzzy, and not all relationships are just about sexual gratification. Even though sex means gender people will imagine a lot of sweaty messy lustful debauchery, I know I do.

I disagree, but find it interesting you would say this. There are a lot of religions in power.
We tend to have a lot of questionable word usage around here and it is often used in jest or in order to demonstrate another's beliefs. While I don't expect or even want you to care about my opinion, I have to say that your turning of the phrase "limp-wristed faggot" is pretty gnarly. Faggots don't have wrists.
You have to be evil to claw your way to the top, evil figts other evil, to hold power you must be the most evil. Look back to the past all the great empires were ruthlessly evil. USA is becoming more evil every day as it fights for more power and dominion.
My term for faggot (bundle of sticks) is slang for a skinny wimp not homosexual. Faggot can also be used for a very old woman a dried up old hag.
