Quote:What are you feelings on religious toleranceI am a supporter of religious tolerance. Our ancestors were quite liberal in terms of religion, even though most of our kindred are moslems today, in the days of our glorious empires, we have supported religious freedom in every way.
From the Yasa of Chingiss Khan:
"He ordered that all religions were to be respected and that no preference was to be shown to any of them."
"Chingis-Khan did not belong to any religion and did not follow any creed, he avoided fanaticism and did not prefer one faith to the other or put the ones above the others. On the contrary, he used to hold in esteem beloved and respected sages and hermits of every tribe, considering this a procedure to please God."
"Chingis Khan decided that no taxes or duties should be imposed upon fakirs, religious devotees, lawyers, physicians, scholars, people who devote themselves to prayer and asceticism, muezzins and those who wash the bodies of the dead. "
In his memory, and due to personal convictions, I hold religious tolerance and freedom in high regard.
Quote:Religious tolerance is quite easy (it just calls for acting like a human being), but accepting beliefs you don't hold to be true is too much to ask.Well, no one is asking you to do so. You do not interfere with it, however, for that would equal the obstruction of religious freedom.
Other than that, you may worship your religion as you wish, and worship any god you would like. It does not mean that you have to accept Gods of another religion.
