In the case of religion, I don't think so.
Religion depends largely on social pressure and indoctrination during childhood. As the majority no longer identify as Christian, the first part is gone.
I see a tipping point in the future. Christianity will lose almost all of its power once the non-religious are the majority.
Although the thought of "closet Christians" does conjure up some amusing comedy skits.
