All depends on the attributes of the particular god you are referring to. The law of non-contradiction gets me extremely close to being certain that certain gods can not exist.
But if you are referring to some sort of Deistic, 'god of first cause' type of god, I think it is unknowable whether that god exists or not.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
