I finally came out as an agnostic atheist (thought I'd break it to them more softly) and I'm being told the two terms contradict themselves even after I tell them it is indeed possible to not know if god exists ANd believe the lack of evidence for a god leads me to believe there is no god until/unless I find reason to believe otherwise. Seriously I'm about to cry and don't get why I'm being assaulted in all caps by my own family, or told I don't believe what I don't believe because when they look up the two terms they contradict eachother. I have nEver said a goddamn thing to them about their whacked out versions of 'the force' Christianity nor have I acted any differently to thEm since I deconverted, but hey. Don't mind me I'm just seething to the only place I know where to go.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.
I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.
