Hitler and Stalin were atheists (Hitler is debatable), but they both also had moustaches, you see the lack of relevance here. No one has been killed in the name of atheism, no wars have ever started because of atheism. How can you kill someone over a disbelief? Their regimes and dictatorships were based on a dogmatic philosophy very similar to most religions.
