The problem isn't that I'm generalizing. No one here really has a problem with generalizations. Everyone who has criticized me for making them makes them themselves.
The problem is the nature of my generalizations. They simply don't want to hear NEGATIVE generalizations about WOMEN. And that right there is the real issue. That's why they're arguing with me, not because I'm wrong, but because it makes them extremely uncomfortable to hear negative generalizations about women. That's all it is. Even the fact that I myself am a woman doesn't change anything, in fact it makes them even more uncomfortable.
But I tell you what. I haven't had even 10% of the criticism that a man would get if he showed up here and said the things that I've said.
So, as much as Rahul has a very valid point about generalizations and stereotypes, it really isn't necessary, since no one is actually against generalizations or stereotypes (despite what they may say). What is really rattling cages is the fact that I'm making NEGATIVE generalizations about WOMEN. If I came here making negative generalizations about MEN, it would be a very different story.
