Wow... I can tell you and your peers really thought this one out.
Yes, because if I don't want one thing to happen, I must logically want the exact opposite to happen!
Oh wait no because that's really fucking stupid.
If you were capable of nuance, you'd understand my actual position, which is that this bible drop is nothing more than self aggrandizing piety porn on the part of the christians involved, and that rather than actually having an effect on a dictatorship that we all agree should be disassembled, it actually poses a direct threat to the people likely to receive these bibles.
Do you read posts before you disagree with them, or does your nonbeliever antenna just come up when you look at the religious beliefs of the poster, and decide for you?
I saw the hamster starting to turn the wheel, but then it stopped to defend it's self righteous position.
IF the North Koreans are under threat of death for worship any other 'god' besides members of the Kim family, and we can all agree there is a need for 'change' Then how is change going to be possiable if not under the threat of death? These poor people live under a bastardized version of a theocracy, and have lived that way in one form or another since initial invasion of Japan in 1910.
Not to force you to think too much, but I will ask you anyways, How do you suppose that a people who have lived under emperial theocratic rule for the 100 years or so get to the point where they mandate change without putting their lives at risk.. Now before you give some hippy answer understand that if you object to the goverment control/deity of the great leader then your put into a forced labor camp just like the jews were in Nazi controled germany.
So the problem remains if ALL avenues of free thought are forbiden, and these people only know life under a theocracy, ask yourself what is the best way to effect change in that country if China is backing the current leadership and wont allow anyone to say boo about them? Change if it happens will only happen from within. If it doesn't these poor brainwashed people will fight to defend their 'god' down to the last man woman and child, just like the japs were ready to do in WWII, and Like their grandparents did in the first Korean conflict.
Unless they can identify their leader as a false God they will have no reason to even want change let alone embrace it when it happens. In the end no matter what happens unless things stay the same many many north Koreans will die. The only question is will they die looking to better themselves or will they die trying to defend their current beliefs?
