I've been told not to eat mushrooms that I find growing on the ground.
I believe they'd be bad for me.
However, I am aware that some mushrooms are not bad... I just lack the capability to tell the good from the bad, so I just leave them be when I find them on the ground.
And this has been exacerbated when my father told me a story of when he ate some mushrooms and, luckily, was near a hospital where he could have a thorough internal rinsing.... not pleasant.
So, the best we can do is provide these people with the information to tell the good mushrooms apart from the bad ones and hope they learn and acquire the ability to pick their own mushrooms, instead of living forever in fear of mushrooms.
(did I take this metaphor a bit too far?...)
So now you eat ANY old mushroom that crosses your plate?
I didn't think so ....... SOME information is wisdom. What TGN is spouting is just pathetic plagiarism at best. Mindlessness at worst.
This is my thinking.
Oh my!! No... I eat The good shrooms that have been cultivated and picked by those in the know.
Much like I take scientific results obtained by those in the know...
Damn this is a good metaphor!
