Thanks, I think you're right. I learned afterwards that the CBT was only offered at all because the local health authority needed to have a therapy option available and CBT was the cheapest they could muster. Whether that's entirely true I don't know, though it did come from the counsellor I was seeing at the time (privately funded) and it would explain much. Good to know your dad benefits from the treatment however.
