Since the bible represents the only "evidence" for the veracity of a Christian's claims, how much emphasis is placed on the infallibility of God? How does this differ between the Old and New Testament? They're genuine questions by the way.
Compare the OT view of god:
Quote:Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?Jeremiah 32:27
Quote:Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.Isaiah 40:28
Quote:Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure.Psalm 147:5
Quote:I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.Job 42:2
Quote:Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, to whom belong wisdom and might. He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding; he reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with himDaniel 2:20-22
Quote:For behold, he who forms the mountains and creates the wind, and declares to man what is his thought, who makes the morning darkness, and treads on the heights of the earth— the Lord, the God of hosts, is his name!Amos 4:13
With these NT descriptions:
Quote:But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.Matthew 19:26
Quote:For nothing will be impossible with God.Luke 1:37
Quote:And what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church,Ephesians 1:19-22
There is a difference. God takes a step from great power towards infallibility in the NT.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.
