Why in hell does anybody need to be sacrificed for forgiveness?

If your neighbor hit your mailbox would you be unable to forgive him unless he either killed and roasted his best pet or was extremely remorseful that you had to torture and kill you own son? What kind of sicko needs blood on his hands?

Again, how can any god fearing people provoke god's wrath when we atheists will do anything to spit in his eye? Please tell me what I can do to surely provoke his imaginary wrath.
