I'm old enough to have gone to school when polio was rife, 3 children in my class of 40 were disabled for life some kids died from it. Some spent months in an iron lung.
Tuberculosis was rife, my uncle who lived with us in overcrowded conditions had it, luckily stretomycin had just been developed he was given it and it saved him, he lived with just one lung though. Now a simple jab prevents it.
Everyone got measles and mumps which often left kids with complications.
This generation is very healthy but
If vaccination rates fall below 80 - 90% all these diseases could make a big comeback.
