I don't think there is a way round this, (speaking as someone who has drank too much on far too many occasions) drunk people can be completely irrational (I feel like I'm starting the obvious here) so there is no easy way out and possibly nothing you can say.
My advice, don't argue with drunk people or learn self defence if you want to argue with them.
I admire your honesty and hail it! The drunk is irrational, my notion is what is the difference with the drunk and the believer? both are irrational but one may become violent? Only one?
I think both could be and don't think I'd need evidence to back that thought.
So how do you talk to one without incurring violence? My endeavor was to peruse the argument under a guise. But I should have know for I am not clever. So my foolishness has been found-out and all I hoped for is for nothing.
I do thank you for visiting this post. I'm sorry if you felt I deceived you. I apologies.
There's no need to apologise. I dont feel deceived.
As you say I think both can become violent too, but I'd add that the only real difference is that the drunk might feel sorry for what they've done in the morning and try to make amends.
I honestly dont know how to answer your question. I tend not to think much before opening my mouth in these situations, which has got me into trouble countless times in the past, so I could probably do with some advice myself.
You could always try the Bill Hicks approach. But I cant guarantee this wont end up with a smack in the mouth either.
