Just to revisit this for a moment:
Your first sentence is ambiguous, in that it's suggesting I "accept" one of two separate things; ie, a god suffered and died or that an unquantified "many" believe it. This is not a trivial distinction - I can accept the latter, as the evidence is overwhelming, but the former needs to be demonstrated before anyone is required to accept it.
The second sentence is erroneous proselytising and need not be addressed further.
