Below is a summary of the Genesis 1 account of creation. There are many creation passages in other books including Job, pre-dates Genesis, which gives additional details about aspects of creation. The current earth (not the last) after the 'Days' (epoch) is described as ‘Good’ but will someday be replaced by a superior creation*. Replaced since it will have served it’s purpose which was ideally designed in advance of the future advent of human sin and God’s plan for it’s remedy.

Days summary -
Day 1 light penetrated the earth's opaque atmosphere.
Day 2 water cycle begins
Day 3 dry land. plate tectonics and volcanism - radioactive energy imparted from moon formation collision event.
Day 4 plants increasing consumption of carbon dioxide and water vapor, and production of oxygen to bring about the next atmospheric transformation - this time from translucent to transparent making the sun, moon and star visible on the earth's surface to 'serve as signs to mark seasons as days and years' - for future more advanced creatures requiring at least on occasion to guide instincts: feed, reproduce, migrate, hibernate.
Day 5 sea animals of a higher order.
Day 6 specialized land mammals and first human (the highest earthly order).
Day 7 God ceases creation for this universe. This last day doesn’t end with phase ’There was evening, and the was morning’ which parallels the Jewish belief that day begins at sunset. Day 1 starts the earth’s transformation from darkness (chaos) to light (order) which continues through Day 6. Revelation 21 says when Day 7 ends.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*The new creation is designed to not accommodate sin since it wouldn’t ever enter (or even have the potentiality**). This new creation will have purposefully activity, work. This work won’t have fatigue or drudgery associated with it like this universe since God designed the laws of physics in this creation to encourage mankind to depart from sin - the more defiling the sin, the more pain and/or work it generates; hence, the more sin an individual commits, the more pain and work he experiences.
** Hell is extra-dimensional to the new creation, and is permanently sealed off (Christ referred to this as ‘a great gulf fixed’).

Atheist Credo: An universe by chance that also just happened to admit the observer by chance.
