How does our ablity to identify the tool of God's wrath make it any less from God? God is the God of the natural universe so why is He somehow omitted from using the things He put into existence for His purposes?
Or should I re phrase, Why/how does your personally antiquated idea of How god is supposed to work in the world 'limit' The Alpha and Omega from caring out his will?
Science says that there have been at least 5 major disasters in the geological history of earth which has wiped out 99% of all the species that have ever lived. We have very solid evidence of this. As far as we know these species did not have a moral compass. they lived, bred, and died. In the end the comet or what ever destruction came regardless of what they did. None of these events happened during our history in which all religions have been invented. As scientist examine these events it is clear that the events simply followed natural law.
Comes now the christain a mere 2015 (apx) years ago. He explains that these events are god's punishments upon us for immoral behavior. They like to use fear as a tool don't they. Now you are going to try to tell me that OUR moral behavior will start or stop that next comet.....defy the rules of gravity and hit us at the zeneth of our immorality. Yeah the norse believed that fenris swollowed the sun during eclipses.
Where logic, science, and the secular try to understand the universe the religious just wimp out and say "It's God it must be..."if they want to be lazy and not look deeper in to reality, fine...but then don't turn around to me and say "you have to believe like me or else..." that doesn't go well.
... Did you know 'bad things' are not a punishment from God. Not the God of the Christianity/The bible anyway.
It is true we lived in a garden paradise with God without exposure or consenquence to what you deem as 'natural law' because living that close to God we are shielded from it. But because of sin we can not be so close to God as to be shielded from the coonsenquences of 'natural law' or we because of our sin would be consumed (like in a fire) by God's righteousness. We simply have been turned over or separated from God and His direct protection.
This life is not our 'punishment' it is our proving grounds to help us determine whether or not we want to spend eternity under god's Protection and Authority. The 'Punishment' comes after this life is over and we decide to remain in sin.
