I do not advocate forcing the religious to give up their beliefs, but you should not expect the right to have an important say in politics, society or education, because the influence of your religion is overwhelmingly negative. It sure as hell wasn't atheists insisting that racial integration was against the will of God, was it?
If enough people accepted the latter as fact for the support of their particular views whatever they may be, I would expect them to say something similar.
